2.1. Water collection and storage

We use basins and silos. We make a split between clean water and water with high and low nutrient content and/or ballast salts. In this way, you can give your plants the right water quality at all times and optimally reuse the available water. In addition, the ErfGoedFloor also has a collection capacity, allowing you to partly buffer heavy rains with the floor.

2.2. Water quality

ErfGoed offers various solutions for water disinfection. Proper disinfection is a must in order to maintain the quality of the water and be able to reuse it optimally. Separating water flows, as described above, also helps ensure that the crop is supplied with water of the right quality at every stage of growth.

2.3. Water drainage

We provide various systems and solutions to dispose of excess water properly. These include drainage hoses and pumps.

Case study

Several of the solutions mentioned above were combined in a project on a nursery in Australia. In the region in question, rainfall is very sporadic. Every shower is, therefore, welcome, but the downside is that extremely heavy showers (up to 50 millimeters (2 inches) per hour) often occur. We solved this by creating storage capacity in the gravel layer of the ErfGoedFloor, where 25 millimeters can be stored. The other 25 millimeters that fall in the hour in question are drained away. This is done through an advanced system of drainage plumbing, sumps, and pumps. In this way, the plants keep their feet dry, but the precipitation that falls is still used optimally.
